The most complex aspects of existence and the intricacies of human behavior can be expressed through metaphors that we can discover in fiction. Clowns, puppets, acrobats, comedians, dolls, monsters—characters all disguised as people, and people who seem to mask another identity. The props construct the scenery of each small event in an equally metaphorical way, whether ropes, glass, threads, sleeves, masks, featherless wings, paper bags… Their role is not to decorate, but to provide clues for understanding a reality that once seemed indecipherable and, therefore, immutable. Each narrated event expresses the need for a change of attitude toward habitual conformity. However, this is not simply a personal shift in response to a psychological trauma affecting only one individual; the crisis extends further, because each fragment in the form of a painting represents a fragment of society in miniature stories, and, in its reflection, those who observe them.
