Certain Clarity

After seeing and painting many different configurations of light and shadow, and their various contrasts, the spaces between the parts take on greater importance in this series. These undefined spaces bear witness to uncertainty, because their instability suggests a possible way forward.
Painting offers new visual metaphors and perceptual games between interplays of light, eclipses and clarities. Each of these visions impinges on the others, forming a constellation of mutual supports that is, at once, open to its own discontinuity. The intention is precisely to focus on that other way of seeing that appears only when certain clarity is interrupted.
All the series in Certain Clarity express the same idea: that uncertainty is not the same as meaninglessness and, if anything, it is the complete opposite. Faced with an immutable logic, unforeseen realities emerge that do not decide whether they are clear or diffuse and which, for that reason, incite another kind of attention.
