2025Wound of Mud

The initial project, Bodies, culminates in the painting Wound of Mud, from which it takes its definitive title. The painting portrays one of the most serious catastrophes of our time, as a reminder of the fragility of our territory and the strength of the human fabric when we act together.
This work is driven by a commitment to preserve memory and leave a lasting trace, raising visibility and lasting awareness of the damage and its repair. The mud that engulfs everything it touches, disfiguring it and erasing all signs of identity, is the same colour that reveals the wound in people, so that neither time nor the work of reconstruction can wipe it off the map.
When the pain of others affects us, we take it on as our own, and every mark, every sign, every trace enters our body. Painting can then arise from an intimate calling that seeks to become collective. To see in order to make visible and, in the process, to allow oneself to be affected by life, through this and other gestures and initiatives.
